yellow ribbon

What's that yellow ribbon doing on Google's site. Well, according to Wikipedia, a yellow ribbon can denote various things, but is mostly associated with those waiting for the return of a loved one or of military troops who are temporarily unable to come home. Sometimes it is also used to indicate a fourth-place finish in a contest in county and state fairs in the United States. Of late, it has been used to symbolize support for the International Suicide Prevention Program. It has also been used recently to raise awareness of Testicular Cancer, Endometriosis, and Madeleine McCann.

  1. The yellow is for Memorial Day. I do wish they would also show support of programs like International Suicide Prevention Program, NAMI, AA, and other programs like them.
